Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological, and spiritual growth. Self-love is the most important kind of love. You have to love yourself before you can love anyone or anything else. Self-love is important to living well. It influences the choices you make, for example who you pick as your partner or how you cope with problems in your life.

Some people have not yet experienced “self-love”, this can come from a number of reasons. You may not be at a point in your life where you want to be.  Things that can hinder self love are a lack of confidence, stress, failed relationships, addiction, and violence. There are ways to help you build your self-love. Become mindful of who you are and what you stand for; don’t become who everyone else wants you to be. Practice good self-care, you love yourself more when you take pride in yourself. This includes good nutrition, exercise, intimacy, and even good social interactions. Set boundaries on everything; set limits, and learn to say no. Most of all, protect yourself, be very mindful of who you let into your life as some people may be toxic and wish to bring you down.

When you learn to love yourself you’ll feel like your on-top of the world. Self-love is the best love, and its not always easy to maintain, but if you follow the tips above, you will begin to love yourself a little more.
