A shooting on the evening of October 1 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas left 58 people dead. By Tuesday evening, a “gofundme” page started which the Clark County Commissioner said raised at least 8.1 million dollars. “Funds will be used provide relief financial support to the victims and the families of the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting,” County Chair Commissioner Steve wrote. “This is America–people helping out each other,” Hector Salas tweeted. “Likely more than 1,000 people waiting in line to donate blood.”

Strangers also donated flights, housing, food and transportation to victims’ relatives coming to Las Vegas, Clark County Fire Chief Greg said. “It takes the worst of America to also see the best of America”, said Dees, who survived the gunfire. “Everybody was helping each other”. Singer Maren Morris, who performed at the country music festival in Las Vegas a night before the deadly mass shooting, has released a new song to help the victims. All of the proceeds of “Dear Hate” will be donated to an organization working with Las Vegas charities that are helping more than 500 people who were wounded Sunday night. Singer Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany, posted on Instagram a photo of them visiting the University of Medical Center. She said, “It feels surreal being back in Vegas today”.
