The album is about her view of control in life where SZA also stated “CTRL is a concept, I’ve lacked control my whole life and I think I’ve craved it my whole life”.

The album has been a hit and very enjoyable because any females would relate to the songs on the albums. The words are very touching and moving. Take for Example Love Galore, SZA opens up the song by saying “done with these dudes, don’t love these dudes, I dust off these dudes. I do it for fun; don’t take it personal”. Female relate to this because they have been through a situation where men aren’t as pleasing to them as they used to be, and all they want to do is have fun being single and mind their business.
